Industry events this Autumn

As industry events begin to return with caution, we’ve taken a look at some of the upcoming exhibitions in the Contract Flooring and Building Products sector, two key areas of our recruitment expertise.

The Flooring Show, 19th September Harrogate Convention Centre

The Flooring Show is ideal for personnel working in the contract flooring sector as it boasts over 250 exhibitors where you can discover new products and learn about the latest trends. For example, this year there’s a wool trends centre, demo zone, design and innovation area showcasing the latest sustainable products and a floor art feature.

The Flooring Show has its own virtual showroom area if you’re unable to attend the exhibition in person so you can find out all about the highlights of the exhibition and exhibitors.

UK Construction Week, 5th October NEC Birmingham

After a hiatus last year, the largest UK built environment event is being held in October for UK Construction Week. It’ll appeal to the building products sector as there will be a host of events and exhibitors staged at the show. Highlights include the wellbeing in construction summit, innovation zone and a comprehensive seminar programme.

The seminar programme features keynote speeches such as ‘future construction outlook’, ‘how construction businesses can increase diversity’ and ‘achieving net zero in the built environment’.

If you’re unable to attend in person, UK Construction Week has its own active social media channels and the Construction Buzz newsletter so you can keep up to date with the highlights of the show.

London Build Expo, 17th November London Olympia

This event will have over 400 exhibitors and 300 speakers giving a great range for people working in the building products industry. Highlights include event stages for Future London, Sustainability and BIM and digital construction. Notable additions to the event include ambassadors of women in construction and the exhibition also looks to champion diversity in construction. They’ll also be a LinkedIn networking lounge where online connections can be nurtured offline.

London Build Expo has a comprehensive on-demand series of seminars and its own newsletter for virtual updates if you’re unable to attend.

Networking opportunities

Exhibitions can be a hotbed of networking opportunities. However, with Covid-19 still prevalent, you may feel uncomfortable attending such a large-scale event. There are still lots of opportunities to get involved virtually – so you can keep in touch with the latest developments in the industry.

This will aid you when looking for a new role as successful applicants we place are driven to continue their professional development.
