You’ll have a product management background , and ideally be experienced within the flooring industry.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the right products are selected as part of the business’s offering. You’ll be making key decisions throughout the buying process and working with the Head of Product, Head of Marketing and Head of Residential Sales to manage the product lines across the brands.
Managing the life cycle of all products to ensure ranges are reviewed and refreshed in accordance with an agreed schedule is a key task. Where ranges are refreshed, you’ll work with colleagues on colour development, initial order quantities, sampling requirements and launch schedules.
Establishing and maintaining KPIs with key suppliers to ensure suppliers fully appreciate their commitment and obligations to the business is important too.
There will be involvement in new product development and managing a launch process to bring new products to market.
There will be lots of liaison with the Head of Residential Sales and Sales Managers to maximise margin opportunities within each business.
To help build strong relationships with suppliers there will be some degree of travel to manufacturing sites.
Another key aspect is to negotiate on price, terms, sample support etc., applying pressure and testing supplier relationships, whilst maintaining a professional approach and ensuring products are sourced at the best possible price.
Further, you’ll develop insight and understanding through analysis of competitor product offerings in terms of technical performance and aesthetics.
