This is a great opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a successful, independent, and growing company within the construction sector. This is a full time, permanent position based in Banbury, close to the M40. The role will be reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for an experienced Finance professional to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Ensuring that all key accounts functions are carried out accurately and to the agreed deadlines. Internal progression and development are encouraged and supported.

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and reporting on invoicing and monthly sales, using agreed systems and processes
  • Preparation and collation of monthly site sign offs
  • Full responsibility of the self-billing schedules
  • Full Monthly reconciliation of the site applications
  • Reconciliation and credit control of customer accounts, responding and dealing with reconciliation queries in a timely manner
  • Collate monthly and ad hoc reports as required
  • Maintain and updating the Fixed Asset Register
  • Prepare and post monthly journals
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly schedule on turn-over and all labour
  • Reconciliation of Purchase hire accounts
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliation
  • Weekly cash flow management
  • Quarterly VAT submissions
  • Prepare supplier payments
  • Responsible for the renewal and negotiations office contracts (photocopier, mobile phones etc.)
  • Assist with payroll; PAYE and Sub-contractors (holiday cover of duties)

Key experience required:
Qualified Accountant (ACA or AAT advantageous) a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience

Able to quickly identify key strategic / operational / financial issues from detailed information

Evidence of managing detailed and complex processes reliably and with minimum oversight

Experience of managing across multiple workstreams and delivering against tight deadlines

Excellent communication skills, credible and comfortable when presenting to senior management

Able to adapt communication style to the needs of the audience

Strong financial analysis skills

Experience with Sage Line 50 and strong Excel skills

Confident communicator
